The 4th Blue Dragon Series Awards, broadcast live on KBS2TV on July 18, gave audiences more than just a list of winners it offered vibrant moments filled with humor, emotion and fashion statements that lit up the stage.
One of the night’s most memorable awards, the LG U+ Good Influence Award, went to Ji Ye-eun for her work in “Kian’s Bizarre B&B“. She humorously remarked “I guess this isn’t a variety award” before adding, “To be considered a person of good influence—I kind of agree. Thank you for creating this award.” When she briefly choked up, MC Jun Hyun-moo teased “You look so disappointed”, drawing laughs. Ji wrapped up by saying, “I’ll work harder to become a more likable celebrity.”
Lee Kwang-soo’s Viral Acceptance Speech
Best Supporting Actor was awarded to Lee Kwang-soo for his role in “Karma“. Clearly surprised, he said, “I wasn’t expecting this at all. Thank you.” He continued with his signature wit, “Do Kyung-soo told me he had a dream where I died from a hair transplant infection. I cursed at him and hung up—but it turned out to be a lucky dream. Thank you, Do Kyung-soo.”
He closed by dedicating the award to his beloved family.
Emotional Wins and Unforgettable Moments
Yeom Hye-ran won Best Supporting Actress for “When Life Gives You Tangerines“. She said, “I’ve never received this much praise and support in my life. It’s overwhelming and such an honor. I’m grateful to have worked on a once-in-a-lifetime project with amazing people.”
The Grand Prize presenter, Jeon Do-yeon, made a dramatic entrance that caught everyone’s attention. Wearing a bold, deeply cut gown, she exuded both elegance and daring flair—solidifying her image as the “Queen of the Blue Dragon”.
Best New Actor and Best New Actress went to Choo Young-woo (“The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call“) and Kim Min-ha (“Way Back Love“), marking them as promising newcomers to watch.
Best Program Award
The night’s top honor, Best Variety Show, went to the innovative and buzzworthy cooking survival show “Culinary Class War“. While unexpected, the win proved that bold, experimental programming has its place at the top.
