BTS’s Suga Returns as Samsung Electronics Advertisement Model, Dispels Rumors of Suspension

On August 31 (KST), the official account of Samsung Electronics Paraguay shared photos featuring Suga in a Samsung projector advertisement, captioned, “This is how you use your Freestyle 2nd Gen projector.”

The photos shared by Samsung Electronics Paraguay show Suga using the projector in various settings, including a studio, outdoors and a workspace.

Suga and the other BTS members have been brand ambassadors for Samsung Electronics. However, when Suga was recently investigated by the police for suspected drunk driving, Samsung Electronics Germany temporarily removed advertisement photos of Suga promoting the Galaxy S24 Ultra smartphone on August 24, sparking speculation about his future with the brand.

As Samsung Electronics Paraguay resumes advertising related to Suga, it seems that the controversy surrounding Suga’s role as an advertisement model has been resolved.

Fans of BTS, known as ARMY, are welcoming Suga’s return to Samsung Electronics advertisements. Comments such as “The rumor that Samsung Electronics dropped Suga was ridiculous“, “Samsung Electronics won’t regret this decision” and “Suga was facing harsh judgment in Korea, thank you Samsung Electronics” were accompanied by purple hearts, a symbol of BTS.

In the meantime, ARMY in South America displayed a supportive banner in front of HYBE’s headquarters in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, reading, “BTS is not alone, ARMY walks with them.” It is believed that Samsung Electronics Paraguay made the decision to resume Suga’s advertising activities in response to this local support.

Suga has consistently shown affection for Samsung Electronics as a brand ambassador. In July last year, he shared a Samsung Electronics employee ID on his SNS, calling it “my first employee ID“, which was reportedly a gift from Samsung Electronics as a token of appreciation.

Suga has also faithfully fulfilled his role as a brand ambassador, often telling fans who asked for selfies “Just give me a Galaxy, not an iPhone“, showcasing his loyalty to the brand.
