Former ADOR Employee Counters CEO Min Hee-jin’s Stance, “Am I On HYBE’s Side? No”

CEO Min Hee-jin released a statement refuting former ADOR employee B’s accusation of covering up sexual harassment in the company. However, the controversy intensified as B uploaded a long article proving that CEO Min’s claims were wrong.

On August 14th, B said, “I’m former ADOR employee B and I’m truly angry about CEO Min Hee-jin’s continuous false claims and new statement full of defamation”, adding “Even though I stayed silent about her violations of neutrality as a CEO, she did not address the abusive remarks towards me and the deceit. Instead, the statement selectively explains the situation by covering up the main issues with claims that I already expected such as poor performance at work and salary reduction. Just as I anticipated, she was trying to shift focus and ignore the main points”. B continued, “Please explain, correct, and apologize for the three key issues you raised”, adding “I’ll sincerely point out the CEO’s false claim about my poor performance”.

<1> Regarding the claim that the case was closed with no charges and the CEO was not biased

B said, “CEO Min Hee-jin of ADOR, where I worked, was responsible for investigating and handling incidents such as workplace harassment and sexual harassment”, adding “Legally, the CEO is the person who makes the final disciplinary decisions regarding ADOR employees”.

B added, “As the CEO, maintaining neutrality and mediating conflicts are legal things to do. This is also what she should do while holding such a high position”, adding “Please explain your efforts to clear Director A’s charges and your biased behavior, such as refusing to warn the perpetrator, as the person who makes the final decision”.

<2> Regarding the claim of retaliatory false report

B clarified, “CEO Min, please stop spreading false information and diverting attention from the main issues”, adding “All seven cases of harassment in the workplace and one sexual harassment report were submitted with clear evidence, and Director A even admitted his wrongdoing and apologized in the Kakaotalk conversation with the CEO”. B disclosed the full text of the report, claiming that there was no false information in the report.

<3> Disclosure of salary and 40% Salary Reduction

B said, “It is illegal to disclose an employee’s salary and the 40% salary reduction without my consent”, adding “I was not surprised by that at all because I knew CEO Min would behave like that. However, her behavior of casually discussing my salary, pointing out the reason for salary reduction and even revealing the exact figures to the public is unacceptable”.

She further explained, “I have received high evaluations at every company I have worked for, and three years ago, I already earned more than the amount I received while working at ADOR, even without incentives. I have also received job offers from other companies at the same salary level”, adding “It is illegal to reduce my salary without following the proper disciplinary procedures or prior notice. Even when a salary reduction is imposed following a disciplinary process, there are limits according to the law. By reducing my salary by nearly 40%, almost half of my salary, it practically means forcing me to resign.”

<4> Performance and evaluation at the end of the internship period

Regarding CEO Min’s remarks about being incompetent, B said, “A total of five people participated in the six-month probation evaluation. Except for Director A, who worked with me for only a month, all others gave final evaluations with favorable reviews and active recommendations”. B continued, “CEO Min mostly worked from home and rarely came to the office. Even though I was a direct staff member, I only met her three or four times outside meetings. Can a CEO who doesn’t even show up to the office assess the job performance of an employee fairly and thoroughly?”.

B questioned, “If I didn’t do well at work, would so many people empathize with me and reach out to help me?”.

Recalling the incident, B said, “After arranging a lunch with an important advertiser for ADOR, I was scolded for hours followed by endless abusive language. It’s so absurd that after seeking cooperation and assistance from colleagues to handle the advertising task that I was suddenly given, I ended up facing a 40% salary reduction and enduring harassment”.

Lastly, B emphasized, “The core issue is CEO Min’s cover-up of harassment at the workplace, manipulation of public opinions with lies, and defamation”, demanding an explanation from CEO Min Hee-jin. They ended the statement by replying, “No”, to Min’s question, “Are you on HYBE’s side?”.
