On August 12th, YG Entertainment announced that they would hold an additional show for 2NE1’s solo concert tour “Welcome Back In Seoul”. As such, 2NE1 will hold a total of three shows at the Olympic Hall, Olympic Park, Seoul from the 4th to the 6th of October. Ticketing for the additional concert day will take place on August 21st.
It is because the tickets for the first two days of the show were sold out so quickly that more than 400,000 people flocked to the ticketing website during the ticketing day on August 5th. YG said, “We came up with the decision because many people who could not get tickets sent requests to add another show”.
This is the first time in 10 years that 2NE1, which is celebrating their 15th debut anniversary this year, will hold a concert since the last one in 2014. Therefore, people who love their hit songs such as “Fire”, “I Don’t Care”, “I’m The Best”, “Lonely”, etc. and fans from all over the world, who are still upset about the group’s sudden disbandment in 2016, are paying keen attention to 2NE1 reunion after 8 years.
CL and Minzy also stimulate fans’ anticipation by releasing the concert poster and photos taken during concert practice.
On the 11th, Minzy posted on her SNS with the caption, “Elsa and Anna of Hip-hop Kingdom. We have the magic to turn everything into hip-hop”. The two in the practice room mirror selfie caught the eyes of fans as they already bleached their hair. CL also left a comment, saying “Minzy, let’s do our best tomorrow. Let’s take another picture together”.
Starting with the Seoul shows, 2NE1 will continue performing in Japan, at Kobe World Hall in late November and Tokyo Ariake Arena in early December, then expand the tour to other countries.
