TWICE’s Jihyo Joined SM At 8 Then Moved To JYP After A Year?
TWICE member Jihyo shocked everyone with the revelation that she trained under SM for a year before moving to JYP
On July 31st, Hyoyeon’s YouTube channel “Hyo’s Level Up” uploaded a new video titled “TWICE JIHYO was in SM Entertainment???”.
TWICE’s Jihyo appeared as a guest and shared various stories with Girls’ Generation’s Hyoyeon. When Hyoyeon asked, “Are you still managing your diet?”, Jihyo, who has been active for 9 years, replied, “I don’t follow a diet. I dieted so much as a trainee, that dieting stresses me out a lot.”
She continued, “I exercise, but I don’t eat that much. Or if I feel like I need to, nowadays, I eat one meal a day, but make it a delicious one.” Revealing that she focused on being healthy rather than losing weight, Jihyo shared, “I’m a bit strict about blood sugar. So I try to eat vegetables in my first meal. I make an effort, but I also try to cook my own food. If you eat a lot of carbs from the start, it spikes”.
Jihyo joined JYP Entertainment in 2005 and debuted as a member of TWICe after 10 years of training.
Jihyo surprised Hyoyeon when she confessed, “This is the first time I’m saying this. I was a trainee at JYP for 10 years. Before that, I was at SM for a year. At that time, you were there, and so were some of the Girls’ Generation members. They said I was cute and all”
Recalling the past, Jihyo said, “I remember Yoona… I was so young that I don’t really remember. She had a CD or something. Since I was a baby, my face would have been small. They were comparing my face size with a CD. I vividly remember that scene where they said, ‘You are so cute’. I was 8 years old back then”.
Hyoyeon then asked, “Was there an older girl who treated you badly?”, Jihyo replied, “No there wasn’t. So I wanted to tell you this if I ever went on today”.
Regarding the reason she left SM and joined JYP, Jihyo said, “The person who cast me moved from SM to JYP. So I ended up going together”. Hyoyeon commented, “If I had known, I would have held onto you. Telling you not to go, to stay together. If Jihyo had not left, she could have become one of our members. We really missed out”.
