NewJeans Used BTS’s Old Dorm During Trainee Days Under Source Music?

The dorm with poor environment mentioned in the recent complaint of NewJeans’s parents is revealed to be where BTS used to live

Earlier, NewJeans Minji’s mother had an exclusive interview with Sports World and talked about what her daughter suffered during her trainee days under Source Music before moving to ADOR, the label of CEO Min Hee-jin.

According to Minji’s mother, the dorm was too old that mold spots and cockroaches were everywhere in the rooms and Source Music didn’t take care of the young girls’ living conditions. Although Minji was only 13-14 years old at that time, she had to go back to the dorm after completing practice alone at 2 a.m. Source Music even asked Minji to quit school because it was impossible to balance studying and practicing.

Of course, all K-pop idols, including successful ones, have gone through difficult trainee days in dorms. However, the conditions in the dorm where Minji and other Source Music trainees lived back then were too severe that Minji’s mother was so happy and relieved when her daughter moved to ADOR and received good care from CEO Min Hee-jin.

Following the interview, a netizen on X (formerly Twitter) surprised everyone as they found out that the dorm with low-quality and cockroaches where Minji used to live was actually the old dorm of the global group BTS

Located in the historic Cheonggu Building, where the legendary group BTS was born, the dorm was later given to Source Music. Not knowing whether BTS’s living conditions during their trainee days were as bad as Minji’s, some netizens also agreed with Minji’s mother that young girls should not live in such a poor environment.

A netizen spread this news to Nate Pann and drew attention by adding the caption, “Don’t you guys think Min Hee-jin, who believes in shamanism, and the NewJeans’ parents might have let the kids live there to get the good energy from BTS?”. Amid discussion over the living conditions there, many ARMYs (BTS’s fandom) complained about BTS being repeatedly mentioned in issues unrelated to them.
