Ex-F.T. Island Song Seung-hyun to marry in June + inherit future father-in-law’s restaurant business
F.T. Island's former member-actor Song Seung-hyun, who recently announced his retirement from the entertainment industry, shared news of his marriage
According to media reports on Feb 19th, Song Seung-hyun is set to tie the knot with his long-time girlfriend in June. Additionally, it has been confirmed that he will inherit his future father-in-law’s restaurant business in the United States, paving the way for the next chapter of his life.
On Feb 15th, Song Seung-hyun announced his retirement via his SNS, expressing apologies to fans who have waited patiently for his return. He stated, “After much contemplation, I have decided to leave the entertainment industry and possibly leave Korea to start a new chapter in my life. It has been four years since I departed from the team F.T. Island to pursue a career as an actor. The challenges were not only in adapting to new endeavors but also in facing the uncertainties of unpredictable waiting periods and complex interpersonal relationships.“
He added, “While there are no easy tasks or simple relationships in any field, I aim to embrace a healthy and disciplined new life that I can tackle day by day. I wanted to convey my gratitude to the fans who have been patient and supportive, and I sincerely hope that both you and I can lead healthy and happy lives without physical or emotional distress.”
Along with the announcement, Song Seung-hyun shared a recent photo of himself. He also updated his SNS profile with the words, “2024 – 202? Soon to leave somewhere” and “Let’s live fun without worrying about others.“
Song Seung-hyun joined the band F.T. Island as a guitarist in 2009. After his exclusive contract with the agency ended in 2019, he left F.T. Island and transitioned to acting. Song Seung-hyun appeared in the web drama “Oh! My Assistant” and the play “Lost Village”.
