In an interview with magazine GQ Korea released on Feb 27th, Lee Seung Gi said, “I received a lot of support with the donation of 5 billion won.”
Lee Seung Gi said, “I recently went abroad in economy class. Before, I often flew economy when there were no seats. But this time people said, ‘Lee Seung Gi donated 5 billion won and flew economy, it’s amazing.'”

He confessed, “It was comforting to see people who weren’t interested in me or even didn’t like me cheering for me. It was powerful enough to make me cry. It felt like I wasn’t fighting alone.”
Regarding the donation of 5 billion won, he shared, “One thing I want to say is that all donations are good. However, this donation was a little different. That money is really precious to me. To say that it is blood-like money is too clichéd.”

Lee Seung Gi explained, “It’s money that contains all the stress, pain and despair of my youth. So I wanted to spend it without loss. I wanted to donate it to a place where I could see clearly how the money was being spent.”
He expressed his feelings, “It was great. I felt like I became a very cool person.”
