Joo Ji Hoon’s family consisted of his parents and a younger sister named Joo Hye Ran. He also has a Shiba Inu dog called “Bhutan” and graduated from the Acting Department at Kyunggi University College of Arts.
Originally, Joo Ji Hoon debuted as a model using his real name Joo Young Hoon, after a classmate sent his picture to a magazine at the recommendation of his mother’s acquaintance. He worked as an exclusive model for a women’s fashion magazine in 2000, but after 2 months, decided to quit working and focus on his studies. He then made another debut under the stage name Joo Ji Hoon in November 2002.
