The last member of INFINITE finally left Woolim, putting an end to the 14-year journey

Nam Woo-hyun, a member of the second-generation idol group Infinite, has terminated his contract with the agency he worked with for 14 years. As a result, all 6 Infinite members left the agency. 

On the afternoon of the 7th, Woollim Entertainment announced, “Infinite member Nam Woo-hyun, who has been with us for the past 14 years, has ended his management contract with us as of today (the 7th).” The company continued, “We express my sincere gratitude to Nam Woo-hyun, who has been with us for a long time, and we also thank the fans who have always given us unwavering love.” They also added, “We will continue to provide constant support to Nam Woo-hyun, who will greet you in various fields in the future.”

On the same day, Nam Woo-hyun sent a handwritten letter expressing his feelings about the termination of the contract with the agency. He said, “The contract with Woollim Entertainment, where I spent 14 years with from my teens to my 20s and 30s, has ended, and now we have decided to support each other’s future.” He also said, “My heart is a little confused when I move to a new home from a place that was like my second home, where you always gave me courage and hugged me. I would like to say thank you to everyone and say that you have worked hard.”

Nam Woo-hyun debuted as a member of INFINITE in 2010, along with Kim Sung-kyu, Jang Dong-woo, Lee Sung-yeol, L, Lee Sung-jong, and Hoya. In 2017, member Hoya withdrew and INFINITE was reorganized into a six-member group.

In 2019, L left Woollim Entertainment after the expiration of the exclusive contract. Following INFINITE leader Kim Sung-kyu last year, Jang Dong-woo and Lee Sung-yeol also ended their exclusive contract with Woollim. Earlier this year, Lee Sung-jong left his agency. Nam Woo-hyun, the last remaining member, left the agency, and all INFINITE members ended the contract.

INFINITE has not been active as a whole since its third full-length album “TOP SEED” in 2018.

INFINITE gained great popularity with their excellent singing ability and sword choreography, and reigned as the representative idol of the second generation.
