7 most gorgeous K-dramas that are set in autumn and can warm your heart

Other than the plot and acting, the gorgeous setting of K-dramas can also draw in numerous audiences.

As autumn arrives, let’s recount the K-dramas that bring this season’s nostalgic and longing vibes, which also introduce beautiful autumn settings.

Love Alarm

Love Alarm”, which revolves around a mobile app that can “alarm” people whether people are interested in them, introduces various jaw-dropping autumn scenes. It was thanks to this app that the female lead Kim Jojo (Kim So Hyun) knows about the feelings that Sun Oh (Song Kang) and Hye Yeong (Jung Garam) hold towards her.

While “Love Alarm” doesn’t boast a happy ending for Song Kang and Kim So Hyun’s characters, their scene amid the yellowing autumn leaves is simply iconic.

Cheese in the Trap

Taking place in a university, “Cheese in the Trap” mostly focuses on the relationship between Hong Seol (Kim Go Eun) and Yoo Jung (Park Hae Jin). While the second half of the series received a lot of mixed reactions due to its divergence from the original webtoon, “Cheese in the Trap” is still a perfect representation of autumn: from the natural, trees, and grass, to the clothes adorned by its characters.

In particular, Kim Go Eun’s character is known for her autumn-ish hair, and would often wear warm and cozy colors as if she’s an autumn fairy.

The Smile Has Left Your Eyes

Aired in 2018, “The Smile Has Left Your Eyes” had quite the chilling plot, contrary to its soft, gentle, and cozy autumn setting. In this series, the male lead Moo Young is a man with a lot of baggage who does not know the truth about what happened to his parents when he was a child. Meanwhile, the female lead Jin Kang starts out with a negative impression of him.

Their love eventually blossoms, though many hardships lie ahead of this tragic couple.

Tomorrow With You

Starring Lee Je Hoon and Shin Min Ah, “Tomorrow With You” combines romance with time-traveling. In particular, the male lead So Joon (Lee Je Hoon) accidentally traveled to the future while on a subway, and successfully saved the female lead Ma Rin (Shin Min Ah) from an impending death. In order to prevent worse things from happening, So Joon approaches Ma Rin, and eventually falls for her.

Fantasy elements aside, “Tomorrow with You” is undoubtedly a master in integrating autumn elements, and even its color palette perfectly portrays this season.

Where Stars Land

It seems that Lee Je Hoon is a perfect fit for autumn, seeing that his other work, “Where Stars Land”, also makes the list.

In this series, Lee Je Hoon transforms into the airport worker Soo Yeon, who later takes a liking to his colleague Yeo Reom. If anything, the two’s the definition of opposite attracts, and together, they overcome various challenges to reach a happy conclusion.

Gorgeous as it is, “Where Stars Land” is a severely underrated K-drama that should make it to your watch list this autumn.

Autumn in My Heart

Right from its name, the “legendary” K-drama “Autumn in My Heart” has proven itself to be a perfect entry in this list. The series perfectly embodies the nostalgic and somber vibes of autumn, as it tells the story of Yun (Song Hye Kyo) and Jun Suh (Song Seung Heon)’s tearful love. Probably one of the most powerful love stories of all time to many audiences, with many tears involved in the watching process.

Goblin

Finally, the fantasy-romance masterpiece “Goblin” is a perfect conclusion to this list of autumn K-dramas. This is Kim Go Eun’s 2nd entry, where she plays the “special human” Eun Tak, who falls in love with the goblin Kim Shin (Gong Yoo).

Watching “Goblin”, audiences will find themselves both laughing and crying, while at the same time admiring a gorgeous autumn setting.
