4-member BLACKPINK will be maintained “Group contract YES, individual contract undecided”

BLACKPINK plans to maintain group activities. However, individual exclusive contracts with YG Ent for each member have not been finalized

The plan is to continue as a group for BLACKPINK activities while pursuing individual activities in the future

Recently, the four members of BLACKPINK agreed to continue “group activities” with YG. Two members have already agreed with the intention of continuing BLACKPINK activities and have completed contracts with YG. YG is expected to formalize this by signing contracts with the remaining members.

In a quarterly report on Nov 14th, YG stated, “As of the disclosure date, exclusive contract negotiations with the artist (BLACKPINK) are in progress. The final results will be announced later through the ‘Major Management Matters Related to Investment Decisions’ disclosure.”

However, whether the four members have exclusive contracts with YG remains unclear, as none of them have renewed contracts with YG yet. The members are still exploring conditions with various companies.

Nevertheless, some members are still considering signing individual contracts with YG. A music industry insider mentioned, “There are places offering hundreds of billions of won in signing bonuses to acquire them. However, some members still see collaborating with YG, which has supported BLACKPINK activities, as more efficient and are still in communication with YG.”

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK concluded their world tour “Born Pink” in September, gathering 1.8 million attendees and generating nearly 300 billion won in cumulative revenue. Even if individual exclusive contracts do not materialize, it is anticipated that BLACKPINK’s group activities alone will result in astronomical revenue for YG and each member.
