37-year-old Kim Joo-taek Surpassed Park Bo-gum To Win Best New Actor At The 8th Korea Musical Awards

The 8th Korea Musical Awards took place at the Kyung Hee University Peace Center, Seoul on January 15. Lee Kun-myung, an actor who has been the MC since the first award ceremony, was the host.

In this event, Kim Joo-taek from “The Phantom of the Opera” won Best New Actor. In his acceptance speech, he said, “My heart feels like it’s going to pop out. I’m 37 years old this year. I think I am the oldest to win this rookie award ever. Thank you for giving me this meaningful and honorable award. It’s my first musical in a year, and I’m grateful to the family of “The Phantom of the Opera” for being with me.”

Park Sae-him, who plays Joan in the musical “Interview,” won the Best New Actress award.

“First of all, the Best New Actress award is so valuable because I could only receive it once in a lifetime, so I’m honored to receive this award,” Park Sae-him said.

“I am grateful to Kim Soo-ro, CEO of Double K, for making my debut two years ago while being my instructor. Thank you so much to all the people of Double K who always work hard for me,” she said, expressing her gratitude to her agency’s staff and staff of “Interview.”

Meanwhile, Kim Se-young (Swag Age: Shout Out, Joseon!!), Ryu In-ah (Les Misérables), Park Sae-heem (Interview), Son Ji-soo (The Phantom of the Opera), Song Eun-hye (The Phantom of the Opera) were nominated for the Best New Actress Award, while Kim Joo-taek (The Phantom of the Opera), Park Bo-gum (Let Me Fly), Park Sang-hyuk (Brothers Karamazov), Yoon Seok-ho (Dwarfs), and Hwang Geon-ha (The Phantom of the Opera) were nominated for the Best New Actor Award.

The Korea Musical Awards is an award ceremony hosted by the Korea Musical Association and sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Culture and Arts Commission.
