Jang Won Young (IVE)
On July 12th, Son Seung Hee, the director of IVE’s “I AM” MV, appeared on MBC FM4U’s “GOT7 Youngjae’s Close Friend” and shared a story related to Jang Won Young.
In particular, Director Son said, “I’m especially grateful to Won Young”, adding, “While Jang Won Young was dancing, she injured her arm. She had to get seven stitches.”
According to the director, Jang Won Young suffered the injury when there were still two remaining scenes to shoot. Then, after Jang Won Young went to the emergency room two days in a row and got her arm stitched, she completed all the scenes. “What was even more impressive was that she didn’t show any signs of struggle on set”, the director added.
Cho Hyun Young (former Rainbow)
Former Rainbow member and singer Cho Hyun Young also recently shared her experience of fighting through injuries, garnering attention.
In particular, Cho Hyun Young stated on her online channel that in 2012, she performed various stages with a cast on her arm due to severe vocal cord nodules and clavicle injuries.
She shared, “I asked the company if I could take a break. At that time, I couldn’t sing because of vocal cord surgery, and I couldn’t use my arm, but I still went on stage. If I didn’t attend the events, I would lose out on the settlement. But besides the settlement, if I suddenly couldn’t perform, they would have to rearrange everything and decide who will sing in my place. It would cause harm to the members.”
In the end, despite her poor health condition, Cho Hyun Young performed as normal so that her members wouldn’t be affected.
Johnny (NCT)
NCT member Johnny suffered a clavicle injury, yet wil stilll attend the group’s 7th-anniversary fan meeting on July 16th.
In particular, on July 12th, SM Entertainment confirmed that Johnny will participate in the event held at Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium at 4 PM (KST) on the 16th. The agency also revealed that Johnny currently has difficulty with excessive movement, so the event will be adjusted considering Johnny’s condition. “It may be difficult for him to participate in performance stages, so we ask for fans’ understanding“, they also added.
Previously, Johnny injured his shoulder while entering the studio during content filming in June. He is currently focusing on treatment and recovery while wearing a brace to immobilize the affected area and minimizing movement, in accordance with medical advice.
