“20th Century Girl” Kim Yoo-jung, “The scenario was very interesting. I wanted to immerse myself in the emotions of Bo-ra”
Actress Kim Yoo-jung expressed her thoughts about the movie’s scenario.
On the morning of October 19th, a production briefing session for Netflix’s new movie “20th Century Girl” was held at CGV Yongsan I’Park Mall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. Kim Yoo-jung, Byun Woo-seok, Park Jung-woo, Roh Yoon-seo, and director Bang Woo-ri attended the event.
On this day, Kim Yoo-jung said, “I enjoyed reading the scenario”, adding “I also thought ‘There is finally a heart-fluttering movie like this in Korea’”.
Recalling the filming, she continued, “First of all, when I heard the director had finished writing the script, I was very curious about how she made the story and situation”, adding “I wanted to meet the director and talked to her and as soon as I met her I agreed to star in the movie. I wanted to immerse myself in the emotions and experiences of Bo-ra. I was very happy and had lots of fun during the filming”.
Kim Yoo-jung, who was invited to the Busan International Film Festival with this movie, talked about her trip to Busan. She smiled and said, “It was my first time seeing a movie in the theater. I loved it. The audience welcomed us so warmly and they also liked the movie”, adding “I was glad that we received lots of energy in Busan”.
“20th Century Girl” tells the memory of 1999 on a videotape that arrived at the home of the female lead one winter. It centers around the romance of 17-year-old girl Bo-ra becoming a cupid to make her best friend Yeon-doo’s first love come true. This is director Bang Woo-ri’s feature film debut.
Kim Yoo-jing takes on the role of the 17-year-old girl Na Bo-ra, who becomes the love cupid for the first love of her best friend Yeon-doo. Byun Woo-seok plays Poong Un-ho, Baek Hyun-jin’s best friend and the target of Bo-ra’s observation. Park Jung-woo will appear as Baek Hyun-jin, a popular student at Wooam High School and Yeon-doo’s first love. Lastly, Bo-ra’s best friend Kim Yeon-doo, who falls in love with Baek Hyun-jin, is played by Roh Yoon-seo.
The film will be released on Netflix on October 21st.
