Big Bang’s Taeyang “During military service, it was so boring that I gave others V-shaped haircuts” 

On April 19th, a video titled featuring Big Bang’s members Daesung and Taeyang, rapper Beenzino, actors Joo Won and Go Kyung-pyo was posted on the YouTube channel “ZIP DS”. They shared stories about their military life.

When the cast mentioned their military life, Taeyang self-admitted “I did really well“, making everyone laugh. He also shared the story behind how he became a barber soldier. Taeyang said, “It was really boring in the military. There was no game at my unit. PX is also open almost once or twice a week. I wanted to create something, but there was nothing to do.” Hearing this, Daesung burst into laughter, saying, “Why did you create someone else’s hair?“

Taeyang further explained, “I felt like I could do well. Others were not talented. I felt like I would do well if I learn, so I told them to teach me even when I was not a proper barber soldier. I started to do that.”

He continued, “I was learning, so others are like, ‘Oh, should I go to Taeyang to cut my hair?’ I started cutting hair, and I became a barber there. We were the 5th corps, and there’s a V mark for 5th corps. I wanted to make a signature, so the back head, with the V mark, like this. Later, the battalion commander was like, ‘Why do their hair look like that?’” This caused laughter among the group.
