Into The New World (SNSD)

Into The New World marks the beginning of the “nation’s girl group” SNSD in Kpop. The iconic debut song was released in 2007. After 15 years, Into The New World’s impact remains the same. In 2021, the song was still covered by junior girl groups. Into The New World brings the message of hope and is filled with bright energy, leaving a strong impression on listeners.

Mirotic (TVXQ)

Mirotic is the title song of the album of the same name released by TVXQ in 2008. The combination of 5 members’ powerful vocals has created a classic hit. For TVXQ fans when the group was still active with the original lineup, Mirotic carries beautiful memories that never fade away.

Say My Name (ATEEZ)

Despite being a rookie, ATEEZ drew much attention for their charm and talent, especially in the international market. Say My Name was released during ATEEZ‘s comeback in 2019 and helped the boy group earn remarkable achievements. However, when being put next to other hits on this list, ATEEZ‘s song is deemed to be not on the same level.

4 walls (f(x))

In 2015, f(x) made a comeback with “4 walls” and promoted with a 4-member lineup, with the exception of Sulli. The song marks f(x)’s maturity in concept. 4 walls is considered to be a song that is ahead of its time. The members’ unmistakable vocals and harmonization, along with the perfect combination of dance and trap music has brought listeners indescribable emotions.

Fever (ENHYPEN)

In May 2021, ENHYPEN released the album Border: Carnival, which included the song Fever. Although it is not the title track, Fever is loved by many fans. In just 230 days, Fever has become the fastest song by a 4th generation boy group to reach 100 million streams on Spotify.

Fever also excellently entered the list of Best K-Pop Songs and Albums of TIME Magazine in August 2021. However, just like ATEEZ, ENHYPEN’s song entering this list stumbles into mixed reactions.

Cheer Up (TWICE)

TWICE‘s super hit Cheer Up once stirred up the entire Kpop industry in 2016 and won many major music awards. Sana’s legendary verse “shy shy shy” went viral everywhere. This is also the song that took TWICE’s popularity to a whole new level and helped the group be classified as an A-list idol group.

Spring Day (BTS)

Spring Day is BTS‘s longest-charting song on the Melon chart. According to many fans, Spring Day is the “Spring anthem“. The song is the title track of the album “You Never Walk Alone“, having a warm melody with emotional and meaningful lyrics. The members can fully express their sweet vocals through this song.

Wannabe (ITZY)

Wannabe is the most controversial case by entering the list of 10 timeless songs. Many netizens think that if a hit of ITZY has to be included in the list, Dalla Dalla or ICY is more worthy than Wannabe.

Call Me Baby (EXO)

EXO‘s Call Me Baby was released in early 2015 and quickly became a hit both domestically and internationally. The song has a total of 18 wins on weekly music shows and was ranked 9th in the Top 20 Best K-Pop Songs of 2015. 7 years have passed since the release of Call Me Baby, but it is still considered one of the most iconic title tracks of EXO to this day.

Looking through the list, fans can’t help but get nostalgic about the catchy idol songs released years ago. While 4th gen groups such as ATEEZ, ITZY, ENHYPEN entering the list sparks mixed reactions, many of BLACKPINK‘s billion-view hits, steady-charting hits of aespa, “summer queen” SISTAR or “Kpop King” BIGBANG or MOMOLAND and T-ara are nowhere to be seen, causing confusion among many fans.
