10 K-pop Artists Most Beloved in Russia: BTS Triumphs, NewJeans Vanished?
Russia is a tough market to challenge for K-pop, but some idols still manage to make a mark here
As the largest country in the world with approximately 144 million people, the Russian music market is also flourishing with metal rock and rap leading the trend there.
However, K-pop is also surging in the frosty country, and several K-pop artists, such as B.A.P, DAY6, Stray Kids, ATEEZ, and MONSTA X, have even held their concerts there.
In Russia, Yandex Music is the largest streaming platform, taking up 46% of the total music market in 2022, according to Statista.
Below are the most beloved K-pop artists in Russia according to Yandex (calculated based on the number of artist profile likes and monthly listeners number):

Surprisingly, trending girl groups such as NewJeans and IVE did not make the list, likely due to them only recently debuting.
Meanwhile, on the overall chart for foreign artists, BTS is the only K-pop representative to make it to the Top 20, standing alongside huge names like Eminem, Imagine Dragons, Queen, Billie Eilish, The Beatles, and various others.
