Suspicious changes occurred in NewJeans’ Naver profile today (April 26th)
After ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin held a press conference, significant changes occurred in the portal site profile of girl group NewJeans, shocking netizens
As of 7:20 AM on April 26th, the current profile of NewJeans on Naver no longer displays their agency affiliation.
Currently, the only information listed in NewJeans’ profile is the content “Another name: NewJeans“.
In contrast, there are no issues with the Naver profiles of groups under HYBE, such as BTS, Seventeen, LE SSERAFIM and ILLIT. Their profiles correctly list their agencies as “Big Hit Music”, “Pledis”, “Belift Lab” and “Source Music”, respectively.
Pledis, Belift Lab and Source Music are all labels under HYBE. BTS’s agency Big Hit Music is the former name of HYBE.
Netizens who came across this were equally perplexed. Netizens from “X” (formerly Twitter) expressed reactions such as “I saw that NewJeans’ profile removed the agency affiliation, why is this happening? So awkward“, “Since when did NewJeans’ profile not have the agency label?“, “Wait a minute… Why is the agency label missing from NewJeans’ profile? Earlier, CEO Min refuted HYBE’s claims of attempted management rights usurpation during an emergency press conference held in Seocho-gu, Seoul on April 25th.
She said, “There was never any plan, intention or execution of a management rights takeover.”
She further expressed her frustration, stating, “I did not betray HYBE, HYBE betrayed me.”
During her speech, CEO Min also faced controversy for her aggressive language choice. This was because her remarks were filled with profanity such as “gae-jussi” (combination of “gae” meaning dog and “ajussi” meaning middle-aged man), “do-badder”, “damn” and “f*ck”.
Furthermore, CEO Min revealed NewJeans’ reaction upon learning of the incident. She shared, “NewJeans members are really kind. After this incident broke out, they called me at night and cried, saying they felt sorry for me.“
