“Queen of Tears” Lee Joo-bin “Is Kwak Dong-yeon crazy? Why is he so good at acting?”

Actress Lee Joo-bin did not hide her affection for her co-star Kwak Dong-yeon

On April 26th, an interview with Lee Joo-bin (Cheon Da-hye) from tvN’s “Queen of Tears” was held at the ANDMARQ Building in Seoul. On this day, Lee Joo-bin appeared comfortably for the interview without separate hair styling. She wore a loose-fitting green sweatshirt, adding a contrasting charm as she had mostly showcased glamorous fashion styles in the drama.

“Queen of Tears” depicts the dizzying crisis and miraculous rekindling of love between Hong Hae-in (played by Kim Ji-won), a third-generation chaebol heiress of Queens Group, and Baek Hyun-woo (played by Kim Soo-hyun), the son of farmers from Yongdu-ri, and their three years of marriage.

Lee Joo-bin played the role of Cheon Da-hye, the wife of Hong Soo-cheol (played by Kwak Dong-yeon) in the drama. Despite being a character with hidden ambitions behind her innocent face, who enters the Queens family as a daughter-in-law, she eventually realizes Hong Soo-cheol’s sincerity and returns to him.

Lee Joo-bin said, “Kwak Dong-yeon and I actually have an 8-year age difference. I debuted late, and Dong-yeon debuted at a young age, so our age gap is larger than I thought. I was surprised when I found out our actual ages. After the casting, we two and the director had a meal together. We exchanged contact information on the spot. I think it’s natural to get closer when playing a married couple. After that, we even had tea time together. We became close while saying, ‘I’ll trust only you.’

She expressed her gratitude, “While watching Hong Soo-cheol’s acting, I thought, ‘Is Kwak Dong-yeon crazy? Why is he so good at acting?’ Hong Soo-cheol was the person Da-hye needed in her life more than anyone else. Da-hye, being an orphan, had never received genuine affection and attention before and had only made choices for survival, but Hong Soo-cheol accepted everything about her with a parent’s heart.

“Queen of Tears” concluded with its 16th episode aired on April 28th.
