Kim Tae-hee, widely regarded as one of Korea’s most naturally beautiful actresses, has long been admired by fans and peers alike. Among those inspired by her beauty is Chinese actress Zhao Yingzi, who recently revealed during a livestream that she had undergone extensive cosmetic surgery to emulate the Korean star.

According to Zhao, she spent enormous sums of money—just her nose alone cost 100,000 RMB. Yet, she confessed the results fell far short of her expectations and bore little resemblance to her “template.” The actress admitted that nearly her entire face had been redone, except for her eyes, boasting, “I’m confident my eyes are even bigger than Kim Tae-hee’s.”
Unlike many celebrities, Zhao has been unusually candid about her plastic surgery. Earlier this year, she confirmed she had undergone yet another round of facial reconstruction. However, netizens were quick to criticize her, claiming she looked nothing like Kim Tae-hee and accusing her of name-dropping the actress simply to gain clout.

Zhao Yingzi debuted in 2007 and was once a favorite of Hunan TV, appearing in hit dramas such as The Romance of the Condor Heroes, Heavenly Sword and Dragon Slaying Sabre, and The Legend of White Snake. Despite this exposure, she never left a lasting artistic mark, instead becoming infamous for scandals and attention-seeking stunts.
These antics ranged from fainting on the red carpet, claiming her looks combined those of four top Chinese beauties, wearing outfits so revealing she was kicked out of Cannes, and even fabricating dating rumors with popular male stars like Lin Gengxin, Cheng Yi, and Hu Yitian.
She also fueled widespread outrage after alleging during a livestream that Korean superstar Cha Eun-woo was dating her close friend and spending tens of millions of won to buy gifts. The claim forced Cha Eun-woo’s agency to issue an official denial.
Zhao’s reliance on controversy to stay relevant has branded her one of the most scandal-prone figures in Chinese entertainment. With her reputation in decline, producers have stopped offering her roles, leaving her dependent on livestreaming to maintain her name.
Many netizens are now calling on cultural authorities to ban her from broadcasting altogether and shut down her social media accounts, citing repeated violations of public order and the spread of misinformation.
