Song Yuqi of K-pop girl group (G)I-DLE has once again demonstrated her strong influence in the Chinese music industry after being named “Women of the Year in Music 2026” by Tencent Music.

The recognition comes as part of Tencent Music’s annual chart event titled “She Shines Wherever She Is”, which highlights female artists who achieved remarkable success on the platform and in the Chinese music market over the past year.

According to Tencent Music, Yuqi’s defining keyword for the year was “energy”, reflecting the vibrant image and creative drive she has shown in her solo career. The platform also praised her for demonstrating her talent as a next-generation female singer-songwriter after participating in writing and composing every track on her first single album Motivation.

The album’s title track M.O. achieved impressive results, topping charts in South Korea while also performing strongly in China.

Yuqi’s influence is also reflected in her chart statistics on Tencent Music’s Korean Chart. She recorded 147 chart entries and 122 appearances in the Top 20, while also winning several year-end honors including Artist of the Year, Solo Artist of the Year, Song of the Year for FREAK, and EP/Single of the Year for Motivation.

Her solo tracks Radio (Dum-Dum) and FREAK both received Gold certification on Tencent Music. In particular, Radio (Dum-Dum) has shown remarkable longevity, remaining in the Top 10 of the Korean Chart for 50 consecutive weeks since its release in March last year.

Beyond her solo music activities, Yuqi recently attracted attention after performing the theme song “Magic Together” for the 10th anniversary celebration of Shanghai Disneyland.

Meanwhile, (G)I-DLE continues to expand its global presence. The group—consisting of Miyeon, Minnie, Soyeon, Yuqi, and Shuhua—recently held the concert “2026 (G)I-DLE WORLD TOUR [Syncopation] IN TAIPEI” at the Taipei Dome.

Notably, (G)I-DLE became the first K-pop girl group to perform at Taipei Dome, and all tickets sold out shortly after sales opened, highlighting the group’s immense popularity among international fans.
