A content creator recently revealed that you can “hire” a K-pop idol to hang out with you, as long as they are paid
It’s entirely possible to become best friends with your favorite K-pop idol by paying for it, claimed content creator Annie Nova, who recently made a TikTok titled “Rent your favorite K-pop idol”.
In particular, Annie started her video by saying, “You can literally be besties with your favorite K-Pop idol, hang out with them, go to events with them, if you have money.”
According to Annie, sometimes when there are pictures of K-pop idols hanging out with non-celebrities who are wealthy, have connections, or are successful entrepreneurs, these individuals have paid for the privilege of spending time with their idols.
“Especially if, like, let’s say, the daughter, the girl, is younger. It’s probably her parents who are investors or just straight-up paid for the idol’s time”, Annie disclosed.
Hiring celebrities is quite common in the entertainment industry, said the TikToker, who also added, “They also do this with influencers. You can rent out a K-Pop idol if you have the money for it.”
In the same video, Annie Nova shared the story of one of her friends, who hired a K-pop idol to attend a birthday party. This celebrity stayed for a few hours to take photos, hang out, and received a substantial fee of up to 40,000 USD.
However, 40,000 USD is not the base price, as each idol has their own “rate”, and the aforementioned idol has been in the entertainment industry for a while, whilst younger idol can cost more.
Finally, Annie Nova shared that she heard about another K-pop idol being paid 75,000 USD for a meeting.
“However, there’s also a lot of other things to consider, such as does the idol need to travel to this person who ‘s renting them, like is it in a different country? Do they have to pay for a hotel? What does the ‘meeting’ entail? Is it just dinner? Is it drinks? Is it multiple days?”, the content creator said.
