Singer-actress Yoona recently expressed her admiration for rising actor Lee Chae Min, her co-star in tvN’s hit drama Bon Appétit, Your Majesty.
On the September 10 episode of You Quiz on the Block, Yoona appeared as a guest to share behind-the-scenes stories from the drama, which has quickly become a ratings success.
Host Yoo Jae Suk pointed out the buzz surrounding Lee Chae Min, who plays the male lead Yi Heon, noting both his striking presence and the fact that he was cast just one month before filming began.
Yoona praised his dedication, saying:
“He felt like such an upright young man. Even though his preparation time was short, he came fully equipped, and I thought to myself, ‘He really is Yi Heon.’”
In a separate interview clip shown during the broadcast, Lee Chae Min admitted that acting alongside Yoona left him flustered at times, remarking: “Sometimes when I monitored scenes, I was taken aback by how beautiful she was.” To this, Yoona playfully responded, “You’re doing well.”
Bon Appétit, Your Majesty tells the story of Michelin three-star chef Yeon Ji Young (Yoona), who time-slips into the past and encounters a tyrannical king with a perfect palate, Yi Heon (Lee Chae Min). Blending fantasy, romance, and comedy, the drama has struck a chord with viewers, surpassing 12% ratings within just six episodes.
With Yoona and Lee Chae Min’s on-screen chemistry gaining attention, the drama continues to rise as one of tvN’s standout hits of the season.
