On the afternoon of May 16, Xportsnews reported that Yoon Shi Yoon, known for High Kick Through the Roof, appeared as a guest on KBS2’s Stars’ Top Recipe at Fun-Staurant. During the show, the actor born in 1986 opened up about how his mother seemingly does not want him to get married at the moment.
“My mother says she wants me to get married, but deep down, it feels like she actually doesn’t want that to happen,” he shared.

Yoon Shi Yoon especially shocked viewers when he revealed that his mother once ruined a date with his former girlfriend.
“One time, I asked my mom to let me out near the train station because I was going on a date with my girlfriend. But she just kept driving past it. When I told her again to let me out, she suddenly shouted, ‘I don’t know!’ while tightly holding the steering wheel and crying,” the actor recalled.
After hearing the story, Kim Jaejoong immediately asked him, “So are you saying the reason you still haven’t gotten married is because of your mother?” Without hesitation, Yoon Shi Yoon admitted, “Honestly, yes, that’s true.”

During another segment of the program, Jaejoong directly asked Yoon Shi Yoon and actor Choi Jin Hyuk, “Do either of you plan to get married within the next four years?” Yoon Shi Yoon firmly answered, “No.” When Jaejoong followed up by asking, “So you completely don’t want to get married?” the actor clarified, “At least for now, I don’t want to start a family yet.”
This is not the first time Yoon Shi Yoon has openly spoken about his hesitation toward marriage. During a previous appearance on the variety show Dolsing Fourmen, the actor also confessed that he currently enjoys living alone.

“I’m starting to feel that being alone is extremely comfortable,” he said. “People tell me that if I miss this stage in my 40s, time will suddenly pass and I’ll already be in my 50s. I’ve also heard that marriage has to happen at the right timing and that you shouldn’t miss it, but honestly, I still don’t have the mindset to think seriously about marriage right now.”
After listening to his thoughts, singer Tak Jae Hoon curiously asked, “So does that mean you don’t even want to date anymore? Or did something happen during your last breakup?”
Yoon Shi Yoon answered honestly, “It’s been quite a long time since my breakup. Every breakup leaves emotional scars.”

At that moment, comedian Kim Jun Ho jokingly asked whether the actor’s standards for women might simply be too high.
Yoon Shi Yoon eventually admitted, “Yes, I think they probably are.”
Born in 1986, Yoon Shi Yoon officially debuted at the age of 23 through the hugely popular sitcom High Kick Through the Roof. The actor instantly rose to stardom from his very first role, something few expected at the time.
Since then, he has continued building a successful acting career through hit dramas such as Bread, Love and Dreams, Secret Healer, and several other well-known Korean series.
