On the 5th, in the broadcast of SBS’s ‘Running Man,’ a race was held where all the expenses incurred during a day of enjoying meals and activities would accumulate as debts, and the members had to participate in various challenges to clear their debts.
Before the official start of the race, the production team called the members who were on their way to the filming location to deliver a mission.
The mission given by the production team was to go to the convenience store as soon as they arrived at the filming location, purchase a pen, and then find a hidden 1 million KRW cash prize envelope. The person who found the cash prize envelope could write their name on it and claim the prize.
The production team also mentioned, “For the first three members who arrive at the filming location early, we will provide hints to the location of the cash prize envelope.” The first to arrive at the filming location was Jeon So-min, followed by Yang Se-chan and Yoo Jae-suk.
At that moment, Yoo Jae-suk, upon seeing Jeon So-min, asked her, “Are you leaving?” capturing everyone’s attention. In response, Jeon So-min replied, “Didn’t you know already? The news came out today.”
Following this, the ‘Running Man’ members gathered and shared their reactions, saying, “Now that one member is leaving, we need to work even harder,” “So-min, next week is the last one, you have to work harder,” “Who are we going to tease now?” and “It feels empty without Jeon So-min.”
Notably, Ji Suk-jin made everyone laugh by telling Jeon So-min, “So-min, it’s not too late even now. You can overturn the departure news.”
Previously, Jeon So-min’s agency, King Kong by Starship, announced her departure from ‘Running Man,’ stating, “We have continued our relationship for a long time, and after careful consideration and discussions with the ‘Running Man’ members and production team, we decided that a brief period of time for recharging is necessary.”
They added, “We thank the viewers who ran together with Jeon So-min. We ask for your continued support.”
Jeon So-min joined ‘Running Man’ in April 2017 and completed her final filming for the show on the last day of last month. Her successor has not been announced yet.
The ‘Running Man’ production team stated, “For the time being, we plan to continue filming with a 6-member lineup, including Yoo Jae-suk, Ji Suk-jin, Kim Jong-kook, Ha Ha, Song Ji-hyo, and Yang Se-chan.“
