On the August 31 episode of SBS’s Running Man, Yoo Jae Suk and Haha playfully speculated about Kim Jong Kook’s fiancée, even causing the production team to step in when Yoon Eun Hye’s name was indirectly brought up. The episode featured actors Jang Dong Yoon and Kim Ah Young as guests, while the cast continued to buzz over Kim Jong Kook’s sudden marriage announcement.
Yoo Jae Suk revealed that he only learned of Kim Jong Kook’s wedding on the morning of filming, saying, “I was so shocked. I thought it was a joke.” Haha added to the speculation by saying, “So it’s not Chae Yeon? Not Park Se Ri either?” playfully guessing the identity of the bride-to-be.
Yoo Jae Suk then teased, “Could it be…?” which immediately reminded viewers of Yoon Eun Hye, who had long been linked to Kim Jong Kook in dating rumors. When Haha chimed in, saying, “It’s really that name,” the production team quickly cut away to a sky shot with the caption, “Stop this talk. We won’t mention it either.” The lighthearted edit drew laughter from fans.
Kim Jong Kook had previously surprised fans on August 18 by announcing his marriage through his official fan café. “I’m getting married. I know some people might feel it’s sudden, even though I’ve dropped small hints. This year marks my 30th debut anniversary, and while I didn’t make the album I wanted, I did make my other half,” he wrote.
The singer is set to marry a non-celebrity woman on September 5 in Seoul. Recently, it was reported that Kim Jong Kook purchased a luxury apartment in Apelbaum 2nd Complex in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam, for 6.2 billion KRW (approximately $4.6 million) in full cash, which is expected to serve as the couple’s newlywed home.
