On the latest episode of SBS’s Running Man, Yoo Jae-suk delivered one of the most memorable laughs of the year by honoring a quirky 12-year-old promise to Kim Jong-kook at his wedding.
During the broadcast on September 14, the cast members engaged in a “10 Questions, 10 Answers” segment before heading to Cheonan for their race. Naturally, the conversation soon turned to Kim Jong-kook’s recent “top-secret wedding”.

Kim Jong-kook revealed that veteran comedian Im Ha-ryong had jokingly scolded him for not sending a wedding invitation. Ji Suk-jin added, “It must have been tough to narrow down your guest list,” to which Kim Jong-kook cheekily replied, “That’s why I left you out, hyung.”
The biggest surprise, however, came from Yoo Jae-suk. He recalled a playful vow from 12 years ago: “Back when we filmed Running Man, Jong-kook gave me a flounder tail. I said I’d stick it into my handkerchief and wear it to his wedding.”

Though hesitant at first, Yoo Jae-suk was encouraged by Yang Se-chan and Kim Jong-kook himself to follow through. The show then unveiled photos proving that Yoo Jae-suk had indeed attended the ceremony with a flounder attached to his outfit — fulfilling his long-forgotten but hilarious promise.
The sight left both cast members and viewers in stitches, cementing the moment as an instant classic in Running Man history.
Meanwhile, Kim Jong-kook tied the knot with a non-celebrity bride on September 5. Apart from her being a non-public figure, no details about the bride have been disclosed, and the wedding was conducted under strict secrecy with only a select group of guests invited.
