The police summoning investigation of actor Yoo Ah In (real name Uhm Hong Sik) has been postponed.
According to Star News on March 23rd, Yoo Ah In was scheduled to be summoned and questioned by the police on charges of using drugs on March 24th, but he told the police to postpone his attendance schedule.
Like Yoo Ah In, Yoo Ah In’s lawyers will not appear on March 24th. It was reported that Yoo Ah In’s side would announce a separate position on the afternoon of March 23rd, but it is known that they are not currently considering it.
Yoo Ah In, who is currently suspected of using 4 types of drugs, was originally scheduled to appear at the police station as a suspect on March 24th. It was the first time that the police summoned Yoo Ah In after he was tested for drugs upon entering Incheon International Airport on Feb 5th, so attention was paid to what position Yoo Ah In would express at the scene.
However, Yoo Ah In conveyed his intention to postpone his attendance schedule on the grounds that the schedule was made public even though it was a private summoning investigation. In this regard, the law firm representing Yoo Ah In told Star News that they couldn’t confirm this information.
On the other hand, Yoo Ah In is currently suspected of using 4 types of drugs. The National Forensic Service informed the police that Yoo Ah In’s hair and urine tests show positive results for drugs such as propofol, marijuana, cocaine and ketamine.
On March 7th, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency’s Drug Crime Investigation Unit raided Yoo Ah In’s houses in Hannam-dong and Itaewon-dong. In addition, the police summoned Yoo Ah In’s manager and acquaintance as witnesses from March 13th.
Yoo Ah In recently appointed a law firm to which a lawyer who used to work at the industry’s top law firm “Kim & Chang” belongs. It was also reported that lawyer appointed by Yoo Ah In worked as a prosecutor for 11 years from 2006 and joined Kim & Chang in December 2017. Currently, this lawyer belongs to another law firm, not Kim & Chang.
It is known that there is also a chief prosecutor-turned-lawyer in the current law firm of Yoo Ah In’s lawyer.
