“Drug suspect” actor Yoo Ah-in reportedly urged Youtuber who accidentally met him to take drugs

On November 2nd, The Fact said they obtained an indictment through the office of Democratic Party lawmaker Park Yong-jin, a member of the National Assembly’s Legislation and Judiciary Committee, and reported that Yoo Ah-in smoked marijuana with YouTuber A, B, and C at his accommodation in Los Angeles, California in January.

According to the indictment, Yoo Ah-in smoked cannabis wrapped in paper in the form of a windpipe with B and C at an outdoor swimming pool.

YouTuber A, who came to the swimming pool to film a vlog, caught Yoo Ah-in smoking marijuana with his friends. Therefore, the actor nervously wondered, “Why did a Youtuber interrupt my free time?”. Worrying that A would tell others that he took drugs, Yoo Ah-in persuaded A to smoke marijuana together and made the Youtuber an accomplice.

At first, A refused Yoo Ah-in’s request. However, the actor told C, “Give A a try”, and continued asking B, “Isn’t it a good time for A to try it?”. As Yoo Ah-in kept urging them, A eventually smoked marijuana. Yoo Ah-in even told A how to smoke it in the right way, saying “That’s not how you do it. Take a deep breath”.

According to accusations, Yoo Ah-in habitually administered a total of four drugs, including propofol, midazolam, ketamine, and remimazolam, under the guise of sleep anesthesia for cosmetic procedures, from September 2020 to March 2022. He has also received 1,100 sleeping pills illegally prescribed 44 times under the name of others.

Yoo Ah-in’s acquaintance Choi has also been put on trial on charges of smoking marijuana, threatening and escaping.

The prosecutor confirmed that Yoo Ah-in and Choi conspired and threatened their accomplices to flee from Korea and reverse their statements to hide their crimes.

The Seoul Central District Court’s Criminal Agreement Division 25-1 will hold a trial on November 14th for Yoo Ah-in on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act.
