YG’s Statement About BLACKPINK’s Future Focusing On Solo Activities Causes Fans To Worry

YG Entertainment finally revealed their stance after BLACKPINK decided to not renew their individual contracts

According to Korean media outlet News1, Jennie and Lisa have officially established their own labels. Jisoo is setting up a company with her brother, while Rosé is preparing for her individual agency. As such, the global girl group BLACKPINK is expected to earnestly push ahead with their solo promotions this year.

A YG official said to News1, “It’s likely that fans will not be able to see BLACKPINK members as a whole group within this year. BLACKPINK has just wrapped up all the official schedules as a group, so we understand that the members are having great desires to take on new challenges”.

He added, “However, the members are all aware of fans’ expectations for BLACKPINK to make a comeback as a full team. We’ll make sure that discussions regarding this matter will be conducted regularly”.

In addition, YG Entertainment also refused to make statements about BLACKPINK’s activities, saying “We will talk about this later”. Based on these words, fans are worried that they would have to wait for a very long time to see the girls return with a new album or perform on the same stage.

In December 2023, the members decided to extend their group contract with YG Entertainment for BLACKPINK activities but did not sign individual contracts. Later on, Jennie and Lisa announced the establishment of personal labels for their solo careers.

Although Jisoo’s side has not released any statement regarding her new agency, the female idol is expected to continue her activities through the management of her brother’s company BioMom. BioMom recently released a notice to recruit staff for the entertainment label named “Blissoo” using Jisoo’s photo as the poster.

Lastly, Rosé is said to be preparing to set up her own agency. She recently presented fans with 20 seconds of her new solo song called “Vampirehollie” through Instagram. The main vocalist of BLACKPINK will be active both as a powerful singer and a fashion ambassador.
