BLACKPINK Jennie is once again suffering from YG’s continual mismanagement.
BLACKPINK Jennie is undoubtedly one of the most influential Kpop idols as of the moment. However, the female artist’s popularity comes with a large number of anti-fans, who drown Jennie in criticisms for baseless accusations. And YG’s ignorance might have contributed to this.
Recently, Jennie, along with the remaining members of BLACKPINK, appeared on the famous magazine “Rolling Stones”, where they boasted spectacular visuals via pictorials, as well as shared their thoughts via an in-depth interview. Here, Jennie confessed that people often judge her for her face, and assumed she pissed while the idol was only shy.
In particular, the BLACKPINK member said to Rolling Stones that: “When I was a kid, people often said I was too timid. I wasn’t bright and bubbling with energy; I was shy, even about saying hello. Nowadays I realize I have to say hello, otherwise it’s gonna come off wrong, so I’ve broken out of that shell.
“When I was a trainee, I often heard, “Why does Jennie always look pissed?” At the time, that hurt my feelings. I’m not pissed. I’m just shy in front of other people. Rather than being hurt, I accept it and try harder next time.” Jennie added.
Recently, Jennie got entangled in dating rumors with BTS V. As BLINKs (fandom of BLACKPINK) and ARMY (fandom of BTS) don’t necessarily have a good relationship, fans’ reaction to such rumors were mixed. In addition, many fans pointed out that the photo of Jennie and V in Jeju together may have been a product of malicious editing, and that recent rumors might be an attempt by HYBE (BTS’s agency) to bury bullying allegations against their artist LE SSERAFIM Kim Garam.
However, despite constant demands from fans and criticisms aimed at Jennie, BLACKPINK’s agency YG Entertainment still remained silent, neither confirming nor denying the dating rumors. Previously, Jennie also found herself under fire after BTS V accidentally followed her on Instagram and immediately unfollowed. Therefore, the repeated involvement with V, especially one suspected to be fake, pissed off a lot of fans, who are now asking for the media to stop mentioning the two idols together, in order to protect Jennie.
This is also not the first time YG gave a vague stance about rumors surrounding Jennie, as the same happened when Dispatch revealed her relationship with BIGBANG G-Dragon in the past.
YG’s continuous ignorance has hurted Jennie severely, as shown in a past live show. In particular, when the MC asked Jennie to read live responses, the negativity in the comment section made Jennie upset, and had to hold back her expressions. Noticing this, BLACKPINK members had to come to rescue, with Rosé saying: “We love Jennie.”
The situation has gone on for numerous times, and Jennie keeps getting criticized over complete nonsense. Yet, YG Entertainment never step up to protect the female idol.
