YG responds to reports of BLACKPINK’s summer comeback, “Nothing is decided yet”
There is still no definite schedule for BLACKPINK’s long-awaited comeback.
On April 27th, YG Entertainment told Sports Kyunghyang, “BLACKPINK’s comeback schedule has not been finalized yet.” YG added, “Regarding BLACKPINK’s comeback in June, that is only many people’s speculation, not an official announcement from us.”

But to reassure fans, YG went on to confirm that a BLACKPINK’s comeback is indeed underway, saying, “However, it is true that BLACKPINK is preparing for a comeback. We will release official information when a detailed schedule is ready.”

This press statement was made due to previous reports of BLACKPINK’s comeback this summer. Earlier on April 26th, Sports Donga reported, “According to an entertainment official, BLACKPINK will return with a new album as early as June.”

BLACKPINK has gone a year and a half without a full group comeback since THE ALBUM, which came out in October 2020. During their hiatus from group promotions, four BLACKPINK members have been focusing on individual activities in advertising, modeling, acting, and entertainment. As the members themselves have hinted at a full-group return later this year several times, fans are getting more impatient and keep asking YG for an official comeback date.
