On March 4, YG uploaded a video titled “2026 YG Plan | YG Announcement” on its official blog. The video featured an interview with executive producer Yang Hyun Suk, who outlined the company’s artist roadmap for the year and introduced upcoming rookie projects currently in preparation.
Through subtitles in the video, YG confirmed, “We are preparing a new boy group with the goal of launching in fall 2026.” Last year, Yang Hyun Suk had revealed that a team of male trainees was under evaluation, stating, “We are continuously exploring and analyzing these trainees. I definitely want to launch one team next year.” The upcoming debut will officially become YG’s first new boy group since TREASURE’s debut in 2020.

In addition to the new boy group, YG also provided updates on its upcoming four-member rookie girl group tentatively named NEXT MONSTER. Following the prior reveal of members Eveli and Chanya—who showcased polished performance and vocal skills through pre-debut content—the company announced that the remaining two members will soon be introduced.
The video further highlighted major activities planned for 2026, including the 20th debut anniversary tour of BIGBANG, as well as comebacks from BABYMONSTER and TREASURE. With both established artists and rookie debuts happening simultaneously, YG signaled an ambitious year aimed at creating synergy across generations.

Yang Hyun Suk also emphasized internal system improvements made since last year, including shortening album production timelines and strengthening efforts to develop new intellectual properties (IP). With these structural changes complete, 2026 is positioned as the starting point of a new era for the agency.
YG concluded by stating, “We will refine the results we have prepared and greet you with joyful news throughout the year. Please look forward to the artists who will lead a new generation.”
With a new boy group on the horizon and multiple large-scale projects underway, YG Entertainment appears ready to reshape its next chapter in the competitive K-pop landscape.
