Kpop idols often have official Instagram accounts to interact with fans and publish their daily life moments. However, despite having a large number of followers, certain stars never push the follow button themselves, and YG artists are prime examples. From idols, actors, to models, celebrities under YG seem to hold this same habit.

Celebrities Instagrams
YG artists seem to have a no-follow tradition on Instagram.

The trendsetter of this “culture” in YG is none other than G-Dragon of BIGBANG. His Instagram profile named @xxxibgdrgn currently has over 20.8 million followers, but the following count still stands at zero. In the past, the male idol actually followed a handful of other people, but has since unfollowed them all. According to netizens, the reason for this action of G-Dragon was to prevent fans from overreacting and bothering the accounts he followed.

Aside from the aforementioned Instagram handle, G-Dragon also owns a personal account named @peaceminusone. Here, he freely interacts with close friends and follows a whopping 859 people.

Similar to his group member, BIGBANG’s Taeyang also adopts the “sassy” habit despite being followed by over 12.9 million users. The idol does not follow any of the BIGBANG members, and even his wife Min Hyo Rin is missing from his following list. However, he still comments on other people’s posts and tags other celebrities in his photos.

Another person who follows the culture of not following anyone is Mino of WINNER. Mino used to follow a lot of people until he got into a scandal for following the account @prettypuke, which posts sensitive content. As a result, the idol rapper unfollowed @prettypuke as well as everyone else, and still maintains this habit now.

Finally, we have the four members of BLACKPINK, whose follower counts are rising day by day. However, the same can’t be said for their following numbers, which stayed a flat zero since their profile creation. While Jennie, Jisoo, Rosé, and Lisa never follow anyone on Instagram, they still post a lot of photos, tag their friends and leave comments on various other profiles.

In addition, Lee Sung Kyung, a model and actor under YG, also shares the same “sassy” habit of following nobody on Instagram. Even Na Eun, who only recently signed with YG, follows suit with the following count of zero. It is well-known that the idol-actor used to follow her family but later unfollowed to avoid them getting harassed by anti-fans.

It can be seen that YG artists have this sassy culture of not following people on Instagram. However, this is not wholly due to their personalities, as some of them actually want to avoid troubles.
