Yeojin, a former member of LOONA, has recently become a topic of discussion on social media after a post revealing her extremely low body weight resurfaced online.
According to posts circulating on fan communities, a fan once asked Yeojin about her dieting method. In response, she reportedly shared a photo showing her weight at just 34 kilograms, accompanied by a short caption that simply read, “Not eating.”

The image quickly spread across social media platforms and triggered concern among fans and netizens. Many people were alarmed by the number, arguing that such an extreme diet message could be unhealthy, especially considering that Yeojin has many young followers who may be influenced by her words.
However, some fans pointed out that the image appears to be from several years ago and may not reflect her current condition. They also noted that K-pop idols often face intense pressure to maintain extremely slim figures due to strict beauty standards in the entertainment industry.

Maintaining a thin body has long been one of the harsh realities of the K-pop industry. Idols are often expected to meet strict appearance standards, typically involving slim waists and minimal body fat. One commonly cited formula within the industry is “height minus 120,” meaning someone who is 165 cm tall is expected to weigh around 45 kg.
These expectations often begin during the trainee period, when entertainment agencies closely monitor weight and may require trainees to lose weight rapidly before their debut or a comeback. As a result, some idols have revealed following extremely restrictive diets.
For example, IU once shared a diet plan consisting of one apple for breakfast, one sweet potato for lunch, and a protein drink for dinner. Meanwhile, Momo from TWICE previously revealed that she went through an extreme diet in which she lost around 7 kilograms in a single week before debuting.

Pressure also comes from the public and online communities. Even small weight changes can lead to harsh comments or body-shaming from netizens. As a result, many idols feel compelled to maintain bodies that are even thinner than what would normally be considered healthy, particularly because cameras, lighting, and stage outfits can make them appear larger on screen.
The consequences of these extreme standards can be serious. Some idols have reported suffering from low blood pressure, dizziness, fainting on stage, chronic fatigue, menstrual irregularities, and long-term eating disorders due to severe dieting.
Yeojin, born in 2002, first gained attention as the youngest member of LOONA. She debuted in January 2017 at the age of 15 with the solo single Kiss Later, becoming the fourth member revealed in the group’s ambitious pre-debut project.

During her time with LOONA, she was known for her lively personality and strong stage presence, contributing to the group’s promotions for songs such as Butterfly, So What, and PTT (Paint The Town).
After legal disputes between several LOONA members and their former agency, Yeojin began a new chapter in her career. In 2023, she signed with CTDENM and re-debuted in the group Loossemble alongside four other former LOONA members.
As of 2026, Yeojin has transformed from the playful youngest member into a more mature performer, actively participating in global tours and continuing to build her presence in the international K-pop scene. Still, the resurfaced weight post has reignited conversations about the intense pressure idols face to maintain extremely thin bodies within the industry.
