Yang Hyun-seok’s side claimed, “Han Seo-hee tried to commit an extreme choice because of her ex-girlfriend”
Yang Hyun-seok refuted Han Seo-hee’s claim that she attempted an extreme choice due to the trauma of being threatened by him.
On August 29th, the Seoul Central District Court held its ninth hearing on Yang Hyun-seok, who was indicted on charges of violating the Act on Aggravated Punishment of Certain Crimes.
Earlier in 2020, the prosecution submitted emergency medical records of Han Seo-hee‘s attempt to commit suicide. At the time, Han Seo-hee said, “At that time, I was at home after the confrontation with Yang Hyun-seok. The investigation has become too long and too much that it gave me trauma,” she testified.
In response, Yang’s lawyer said, “There are many articles on the media about Han Seo-hee’s relationship with the girlfriend who was dating her at the time. While doing SNS activities, Han Seo-hee has revealed her feelings a lot. We’re would like to report that this situation happened because her relationship with her girlfriend was broken,” they claimed.
In the meantime, the lawyer said, “Han Seo-hee’s words were inconsistent. That’s one of the things that came up then. She refuted every time, and we naturally wonder if it is justified to write a report after the newspaper articles came out,” they pointed out.
The prosecution believes that (Han Seo-hee’s testimony) has been consistent with the trial court since the public interest report. “We are trying to produce evidence from before 2017 because the defendant says Han’s words are inconsistent,” they explained.
Meanwhile, Yang Hyun-seok is accused of trying to cover up B.I’s drug charges by threatening and conciliating Han Seo-hee’s attempt to report B.I’s drug allegations in 2016. Han Seo-hee, who reversed her statement during the police investigation, reported through the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission in 2019 that she has to face Yang Hyun-seok’s threat and YG’s external pressure.
In response, Yang Hyun-suk admitted that he had met Han Seo-hee, but denied all charges of threatening retaliation.
The next hearing will be held on the morning of September 26th.
