On July 20, former Wonder Girls member Yubin revealed candid photos with her 9-year-younger boyfriend. He is Kwon Soon Woo, the No. 1 tennis player in Korea.
This is the first time Yubin publicly showed her boyfriend on her social media. The released photos showed the couple hanging out in everyday outfits and sharing sweet moments. The post garnered major attention from netizens as well as other stars in the entertainment industry. Singers such as former Wonder Girls Sunye, 2NE1 Minzy, and Chae Rina expressed happiness when a fellow female idol found love.
Yubin was born in 1988 and debuted in Wonder Girls in 2007, known for such hits as “Tell Me,” “So Hot,” and “Nobody.” After the girl group disbanded in 2017, Yubin opened her own entertainment company called rrr Entertainment in 2020.
Kwon Soon Woo was born in 1997. He started playing in professional tournaments in 2013. He is the only Korean tennis player to win 2 ATP Tour singles and earns the title of Korea’s “tennis genius.”
In May, news went around stating Yubin and Kwon Soon Woo were dating. rrr Entertainment released an immediate statement, confirming the news, “It is true that the two are dating with good feelings toward each other. We cannot disclose the details of it because it is the artist’s private life.”
