According to a March 18 (local time) report by People, Whoopi Goldberg recently expressed her satisfaction with her current life during an episode of the ABC talk show The View, which she hosts.
During the broadcast, Goldberg strongly related to the topic of women who, despite being in happy long-term relationships, sometimes miss the freedom of casual dating from their single days. She made a striking remark, saying, “I’m single, I don’t need to marry anyone or feel responsible. I just ‘hit-and-run’ when I need to,” openly referring to her preference for no-strings-attached encounters.
This isn’t the first time she has shared such views. In a previous interview, Goldberg surprised the public by stating, “Over the past 25 years, I realized not everyone is suited for relationships,” adding that some people are simply “better suited for one-night stands.”
Goldberg has long been vocal about her thoughts on relationships and intimacy. On a past episode of The View, she reflected on her marriages, saying, “I always had great physical relationships, but they weren’t fun.”

Born in 1955, Goldberg married drug counselor Alvin Martin in 1973 and had a daughter, Alexandrea Martin, before divorcing in 1979. She later remarried cinematographer David Claessen in 1986 and Lyle Trachtenberg in 1994, but both marriages ended in separation in 1991 and 1995, respectively. Since then, she has continued to share her candid perspectives on love, marriage, and divorce through her platform on The View.
