Jeongyeon, who halted activities due to health reasons, practiced warm sharing with her older sister, actress Gong Seung-yeon.
On Dec 25th 2021, the Anseong Pyeonggang Princess Animal Shelter in Anseong-si, Gyeonggi-do announced on its official SNS, “Kkomul, which suffers from a severe skin disease, has star sisters. Actress Gong Seung-yeon and singer Jeongyeon decided to protect the child (temporary protection).”
Temporary protection means protecting abandoned dogs with nowhere to go until they find a new family. Jeongyeon and Gong Seung-yeon took the temporary care of the dog and named it Yuki. About 20 days later, on Jan 14th, Yuki’s official Instagram account was created.
A post was uploaded, saying, “I’m Yuki, a boy estimated to be 3 months old. Jeongyeon gave me the name Yuki. I came from the Anseong Pyeonggang Princess Animal Shelter, and Jeongyeon is temporarily protecting me. I’ve been suffering from a skin disease since I was new here. Now I’m getting better by taking medicine and medicinal baths. Please look after me.”
In particular, Yuki’s appearance changed 180 degrees within a month, attracting attention.
A month ago, Yuki looked exhausted from the severe skin disease. However, after meeting Gong Seung-yeon and Jeongyeon, only sparkling eyes remained and its hair grew a lot. This is the part where you can see the power of love that the two sisters give Yuki.
This is not the first time that Gong Seung-yeon and Jeongyeon have done good deeds. In January last year, they temporarily protected Bbi Bbi, an abandoned dog, through the Anseong Pyeonggang Princess Animal Shelter. In August of the same year, it was revealed that they adopted a new dog, Peanut.
As such, the two have been steadily doing good deeds to protect abandoned dogs. Aside from posting photos to promote the adoption of abandoned dogs on SNS, they continued volunteering at the shelter to clean up excrement and play with dogs. They also donated money for abandoned dogs several times.
The two’s warm hearts had a good influence on those around them. In 2017, TWICE Momo visited an abandoned dog shelter with her two sisters for volunteer work. On Nov 1st last year, Jeongyeon’s overseas fan club “Jeongyeon Union” donated dog food to the Anseong Pyeonggang Princess Animal Shelter to commemorate Jeongyeon’s birthday.
Meanwhile, TWICE Jeongyeon is trying to recover her health after suspending activities due to health reasons in December 2021. Gong Seung-yeon is appearing in tvN’s Saturday-Sunday drama “Bulgasal: Immortal Souls”.
