Not long ago, screenshots circulated widely across Chinese social media platforms, allegedly showing conversations between Wang Yibo and Qi Mei He via a secondary Xiaohongshu account. The leaked images did not only hint at a romantic relationship but also contained statements that appeared to criticize fellow celebrities, including Xiao Zhan, Lu Han, Cai Xukun, and Guan Xiaotong. As a result, the controversy quickly escalated, dragging multiple stars into the discussion.
In response, Wang Yibo’s management company, Yuehua Entertainment, released an official statement asserting that all circulating content was maliciously fabricated. The agency emphasized that a particular online account had publicly spread defamatory information and described the situation as “extremely serious.”
Netizens were quick to identify inconsistencies within the alleged screenshots. For instance, the conversation timestamps were dated between 2025 and 2026, yet the phone number supposedly linked to the account had reportedly been deactivated in 2019. Additionally, Xiaohongshu chat histories are typically stored locally on a single device and cannot be seamlessly synchronized across multiple devices, raising further doubts about the authenticity of the images.
Yuehua Entertainment confirmed that Wang Yibo is a victim of false accusations and has authorized legal representatives to collect evidence. The company stated it will hold those responsible fully accountable under the law and urged the public to remain rational in the face of unverified online rumors.
The agency’s swift and firm reaction has been viewed by many fans as a necessary step to protect Wang Yibo’s reputation amid the growing spread of misinformation. For now, there is no verified evidence supporting the dating claims, and the matter remains under legal review.
