VIXX’s Ravi and rapper Nafla to be back in court due to military service corruption

Former VIXX member Ravi and rapper Nafla will be back in court

According to Star News on September 23rd, the Seoul Southern District Court’s Criminal Appeals Division 2-3 will hold its first trial on October 31 against Ravi and Napla, who were indicted on charges of violating the Military Service Act. It is the first time in about two months that an appeal has been held since the first trial was sentenced on August 10.

The first trial court found Ravi guilty and ordered one year in prison, two years of probation, and 120 hours of community service. The court ruled that the defendant (Ravi) planned closely with broker Koo to try to avoid military service by pretending to have symptoms of epilepsy, and interfered with the work of public officials. However, the court said, “It takes into account various situations, including the fact that he is a first-time offender and acknowledges and reflects on his wrongdoing, and that he is expected to fulfill his military service obligations by being judged for military service again.”

Meanwhile, Nafla was sentenced to one year in prison. The court pointed out, “The defendant (Napla) as a social service worker was acting meticulously to be judged as a 5th grade (of mental depression), and sending threatening texts to district office employees,” adding, “The consequences of the crime have been very large as the investigation has expanded.”

The court also said, “The defendant’s crime is worse because he committed this case while being tried for a drug case,” adding, “We take into account the fact that he is admitting and reflecting on his mistakes while in custody for five months, and that he was diagnosed with level 4 for mental depression.”

The court also said, “The defendant’s crime quality is worse because he committed this case while being tried for a drug case,” adding, “We take into account the fact that he is admitting and reflecting on his mistakes while in custody for five months, and that he was diagnosed with level 4 for mental depression.”

Ravi accepted the first trial ruling and expressed his intention not to appeal, but the prosecution filed an appeal for reasons such as unfair sentencing. Earlier, the prosecution demanded a two-year prison sentence for Ravi. Nafla, who was arrested and jailed, appealed for a commutation. During the first trial, Nafla submitted a letter of apology several times, appealing for leniency. Prosecutors also appealed and had sought two and a half years in prison for Nafla.
