Viewers shocked to see “The First Responders” kill two main characters even before it ends

“The First Responders” has not ended but the second main character already died

Episode 11 of SBS’s Fri-Sat drama “The First Responders”, which aired on September 8th, ended with a shocking scene.

In this episode, Dex (Jeon Sung Woo) kidnaps Jin Ho Gae (Kim Rae Won) and controls him as if he were a puppet. Following Dex’s orders, Jin Ho Gae steals Jang Sung Jae (Jang Hyun Sung)’s ID card and copies DNA data of dangerous criminals from the prosecution office. After ensuring the safety of Gong Myung Pil (Kang Ki Dong) and Song Seol (Gong Seung Yeon), Jin Ho Gae swallowed the USB drive containing the data.

However, Jin Ho Gae’s father Jin Chul Joong (Jo Seung Yeon) wears a headset with a bomb. In order to save other people, Jin Ho Gae has to take medicine to vomit up the USB. Jin Ho Gae persuaded Jin Chul Joong, saying he must catch Dex, but Jin Chul Joong insisted on bringing the USB to Dex.

As soon as Jin Chul Joong goes up to the rooftop, the bomb explodes. Jin Ho Gae approaches Jin Chul Joong at that very moment so the two die in the explosion.

The ending of episode 11 shocked all viewers. It is not common for a main character to die right before the drama ends. What’s more shocking is that another main character Bong Do Jin played by actor Son Ho Jun also dies in episode 3. Many people were dumbfounded by  “The First Responders” writer’s unusual decision to kill two main characters right before the end of the drama.

Netizens who watched the drama commented, “What?? They killed all the main characters?”, ‘“But isn’t Kim Rae Won the main character?”, “I’ve seen many main characters die in the last episode, but this is the first time a main character gets killed even before the drama ends”, “Everyone dies in the end?”, etc.
