Veteran Star Confessed To Bullying Past, “I Regret It, But The Victim Has Passed Away”

Taro Kida, a Japanese composer known as "Mozart of Naniwa," appeared on a broadcast and confessed to being a school bully.

Veteran Japanese composer Taro Kida (93 years old) appeared on the latest episode of ABC TV’s “Detective Night Scoop” on March 8th (local time). This program is conducted under the concept of a detective office which investigates and solves requests received from viewers. On this day, “Detective Night Scoop” received a request saying, “My husband has long regretted hitting a friend in middle school. My husband wants to apologize.”

When asked by the MC if he has any regrets, Taro Kida replied, “(I have) regrets, but he has already passed away.” Taro Kida added, “He (the victim) was a kid who had weak heart. As soon as we went to middle school, everyone started teasing him. Actually, I was one of them.”

Taro Kida shed tears as if he felt guilty. “I hit him. He just cried quietly. I was shocked and didn’t hit anyone since then,” he said. “I regret it a lot.”

Meanwhile, Taro Kida went to Kansei Gakuin Middle School, known as a prestigious middle school in Japan. He went on to go to Kansei Gakuin University, but dropped out and became a pianist. He actively worked for 10 years, gaining experience as a pianist. He was also composer in charge of composing at the Casba Orchestra. Taro Kida married his wife in April 1964 and the two have been together for more than 50 years.
