“Sing Again 3” Lee Seung-gi opened up about his recent controversy

On Oct 26th, the press conference of JTBC’s variety show “Sing Again 3” was held in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul. CP Yoon Hyun-jun, PD Shim Woo-jin, singer Lee Seung-gi, who serves as the program’s MC, as well as judges Yoon Jong-shin, Yim Jae-beom, Baek Ji-young, Kim Eana, Kyuhyun, Lee Hae-ri, Sunmi and Code Kunst attended the event.

“Sing Again 3” is a music survival program that returns after about two years since Season 2 in 2021, following Season 1 that began in 2020. Over the years, it has discovered many stars, including Lee Mu-jin, Lee So-jeong, Lee Jung-kwon, Jung Hong-il, Lee Seung-yoon, Yoonsung and Kim Ki-tae. Compared to Season 1, Season 2 had lower viewership ratings and less buzz about the program and its cast.

Lee Seung-gi kicked off the event. Unfortunately, the topic was not related to the program but to his personal life issues. Recently, he faced multiple controversies during his US concert schedule. He received criticism from overseas Koreans due to poor fan service, such as not visiting supporting restaurants.

Regarding this, Lee Seung-gi said, “2023 is a time for me to toughen up. I’m tempering myself from within. I’m also being tempered due to various external factors. I apologize for causing fatigue to fans and people concerned. I’m maturing and getting stronger through these experiences. I hope you’ll watch me with kind eyes.”

He added, “I won’t use this program as a means to overcome what has happened so far. Desperate participants, ‘Sing Again’ kids will appear. I’ll play the role of a bridge to convey their passion effectively.”

“Sing Again 3” will premiere at 10 PM on Oct 26th.
