Actress Park Shin-hye is set to make her return to the small screen in Undercover Miss Hong, previously titled Miss Undercover Boss. The drama has officially secured a January 2026 weekend prime-time slot on tvN, following the conclusion of Jung Kyung-ho’s Pro Bono, which is scheduled to air in December.

Undercover Miss Hong is a lively office comedy that follows Hong Geum-bo (played by Park Shin-hye), an elite financial regulator who goes undercover as a rookie employee at a suspicious securities firm to investigate questionable fund movements. The drama promises a blend of suspense and humor as Hong navigates her double life.

Directed by Park Seon-ho and written by Moon Hyun-kyung, the show is a co-production between Celltrion Entertainment and Studio Dragon. The cast also includes Go Kyung-pyo, Cho Han-gyeol, Kim Hyung-mook, and Ha Yoon-kyung, raising expectations for a strong ensemble performance.

The change from its original title Miss Undercover Boss to Undercover Miss Hong better reflects the character-centric narrative and sets the stage for Park Shin-hye to shine in a titular role once again.

As the first tvN weekend drama of 2026, Undercover Miss Hong follows in the footsteps of recent hits like Bon Appétit, Your Majesty starring Im Yoon-ah and Typhoon Family featuring Lee Junho, both of which contributed to the channel’s renewed success in the weekend slot.

The drama will also go head-to-head in the 9 PM time slot with KBS 2TV’s new fantasy romance historical drama To My Beloved Thief, starring Nam Ji-hyun and Moon Sang-min. Scheduled to premiere on January 3, 2026, To My Beloved Thief tells the story of a notorious female thief and a royal prince whose souls accidentally switch, leading to a fateful romance filled with danger and heroism.

While Undercover Miss Hong will premiere later in the month, the competition for ratings between the two high-profile dramas is expected to be intense. Both Park Shin-hye and Nam Ji-hyun are known as “trustworthy actresses” by the public, adding to the anticipation.

With its confirmed scheduling and star-studded cast, Undercover Miss Hong is poised to kick off 2026 with a comedic yet thrilling bang, continuing tvN’s streak of weekend drama successes.
