Uhm Tae Woong returns to the small screen after 7 years, acting alongside Lee Gi Kwang & Kang Ji Young

Actor Uhm Tae Woong announced his drama comeback after 7 years since SBS’s “Wanted”.

On June 27th, Uhm Tae Woong’s agency said, “The actor will appear in the new drama ‘I Kill You’.”

“I Kill You” revolves around the main character, who was once a promising taekwondo athlete but becomes a part-timer because of his poor background, facing various events due to his resemblance to the son of a chaebol family.

The project is arousing keen interest as it’s the first drama by director Yoo Ha, who directed popular films such as “A Dirty Carnival”, “A Frozen Flower”, “Pipeline”, etc.

Kara Kang Ji Young and HIGHLIGHT Lee Gi Kwang have confirmed their appearances in this work as leads. Uhm Tae Woong’s character will play the role of a problem solver in this drama.

Earlier in 2016, Uhm Tae Woong was accused of sexually assaulting A, an employee of an entertainment establishment. However, he was cleared of charges after A’s claim was confirmed to be false. Nevertheless, he was still sent to prosecution on charges of prostitution and fined 1 million won.

Later, the actor tried to make a comeback through the 2017 movie “Excavator” but still faced public criticism. In 2021, he announced his return through a film called “The Last Homework” but it has yet to be released. 

Therefore, attention is focused on how the public will react to Uhm Tae Woong’s effort in the upcoming drama “I Kill You”.

Meanwhile, “I Kill You”, starring Uhm Tae Woong, has started filming on June 12th, and is scheduled to premiere in the second half of this year.
