Uhm Jung-hwa Makes Film Comeback After 3 Years With “The Bright Girl” Following “Doctor Cha” Success

Actress Uhm Jung-hwa is returning to the big screen after three years

On October 2nd, SARAM Entertainment announced that Uhm Jung-hwa would make her comeback on the big screen with the new movie “The Bright Girl”.

Gaining huge attention with her female lead role in the popular drama “Doctor Cha” in the first half of this year, Uhm Jung-hwa is expected to captivate movie fans again after three years with the one-top film “The Bright Girl”.

It is not exaggerated to say 2023 is the year of Uhm Jung-hwa. “Doctor Cha”, which made viewers laugh and cry every week, broke JTBC’s all-time ratings and attracted many hot topics. Uhm Jung-hwa also stood out among the cast with her excellent performance.

In addition, she also went on the stage and continued her singing career. Through the entertainment program “Dancing Queens on the Road”, Uhm Jung-hwa went to various places in Korea together with fellow singers Kim Wan-sun, Lee Hyo-ri, BoA, and Hwasa and performed at university festivals to feel the heat of the young MZ Generation. 

As such, Uhm Jung-hwa once again solidified her position as an all-rounder artist and a multitalented entertainer.

Amid her rising popularity, Uhm Jung-hwa plans to make her comeback on the big screen and showcase her box-office power. “The Bright Girl” is a crime film in which Ji-hye (Uhm Jung-hwa), a professional operator whose specialty is making things beautiful, gets caught up in an unintended incident while preparing the last big plan.

Since Uhm Jung-hwa has shown amazing acting in numerous comedy films, such as “Okay! Madam”,  “Dancing Queen”, “Wonderful Nightmare”, etc., expectations are high for her new transformation through “The Bright Girl” this time.

The movie will premiere on October 11th.
