TWICE to join LE SSERAFIM and IVE in the lineup of the 73rd Kōhaku Uta Gassen: 3 K-girl groups appear together for the 1st time in 11 years

TWICE will participate in this year’s NHK Kōhaku Uta Gassen. 

TWICE has been confirmed as part of the lineup of the 73rd NHK Kōhaku Uta Gassen Show (Japan’s yearly New Year’s Eve Music Show) held on New Year’s Eve. It’s been 3 years since TWICE last participated. Participating singers will be announced on November 16th.

Like TWICE, IVE and LE SSERAFIM, whose lineup both include Japanese members, will appear at this show for the first time. The Japanese boy group JO1, formed through the Japanese version of the popular Korean audition program “Produce 101”, will also appear. 

TWICE, IVE, and LE SSERAFIM joining the lineup will mark the first time in 11 years since the 62nd Kōhaku Uta Gassen Show (2011) with the attendance of TVXQ, KARA, and Girls’ Generation, that 3 K-pop groups participate in the show together.

TVXQ is still a “legendary” in Japan.

In addition, BE: FIRST, Vaundy, Saucy Dog, Aimer will be participating for the first time.
