On August 20, Arirang TV hosted a live broadcast titled K-Pop: The Next Chapter, featuring President Lee Jae-myung, K-Pop Demon Hunters director Maggie Kang, and TWICE members Jeongyeon and Jihyo. During the event, the TWICE members discussed K-pop’s global influence and their connection to HUNTR/X’s story.

Jeongyeon explained, “During our world tours, we meet fans who sing along with us, hold up supportive signs, and even wear matching costumes. That kind of unity really resonated with us.”

Jihyo added humorously, “Seeing HUNTR/X members in pajamas or always finding the sofa reminded us of ourselves. Our members also get acupuncture at Korean medicine clinics, so we relate a lot.”

When asked about selecting “Take Down” for the OST, Jihyo said, “We were sent all the HUNTR/X tracks for consideration. While ‘Golden’ was also a candidate, we felt ‘Take Down’ suited the three of us the best, so we chose it.”

Jeongyeon admitted that “Take Down” was the most difficult song she had sung since debut, saying, “I kept asking myself, ‘Can I really handle this?’ while performing.” Despite initial nerves, their live performance received praise from both fans and viewers, with Jeongyeon and Jihyo even singing part of the track live during the broadcast.

K-Pop Demon Hunters was released on Netflix on June 20 and quickly became the second most-watched Netflix movie at the time. Its OST “Golden” also topped the Billboard Hot 100, creating a worldwide sensation.

TWICE’s involvement in the K-Pop Demon Hunters OST highlights their versatility as artists, bridging the gap between K-pop and animated film soundtracks, and further solidifying their global influence.
